Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship

About the role

Action for Care Ltd is seeking a motivated individual for a Level 2 Adult Care Apprenticeship. This role involves providing high-quality care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, behaviours that challenge, and additional complex needs in a residential setting. The apprenticeship will cover essential duties such as promoting independence, maintaining high standards of care, participating in care planning, administering medication (as prescribed), undertaking keyworker responsibilities, and fostering effective communication within the team. You will also contribute to administrative practices, case recording, and staff training. Desirable requirements include relevant qualifications, knowledge of learning disabilities and autism, experience with challenging behaviours, and a full driving licence. Essential skills include good communication, a commitment to quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities/autism, and knowledge of basic first aid and medication administration. Upon successful completion, there is an opportunity for career progression within the care sector.

Entry requirements

• Good communication skills (verbal & written), Commitment to quality of life for people with Learning Disabilities/Autism, Basic First Aid knowledge, Medication knowledge, Understanding of Equal Opportunities Policy, Domestic skills, Housekeeping, Health Eating, Cooking and Finance. Desirable: Relevant qualifications, Knowledge of Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, Experience of working with people who have Behaviours that Challenge, Knowledge of residential care, Person Centred Planning, Health and Safety, Full current driving licence. Desired GCSEs: English (4-9), Maths (4-9).
