About the role

As an apprentice at West Suffolk Council, you will gain hands-on experience in the Energy Team. You will assist with decarbonisation projects, including electric vehicle infrastructure, heat pumps, and solar PV. Your role will involve technical, analytical, and administrative tasks to improve the council's energy efficiency and reduce utility costs. You will work alongside experienced staff and develop new skills. This apprenticeship leads to a Level 3 Energy Manager qualification.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English Language and Maths (9-4), and ideally a relevant qualification in geography or environmental studies (9-4). Strong communication, IT, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, analytical, and team-working skills are also required.
