About the role

Lashan Digital is seeking an AI Engineer Apprentice to join their delivery team. This role involves creating algorithms for problem-solving, automating tasks, and predicting outcomes using technologies like generative AI, speech-to-text, and image processing. You will learn on the job, working on live client projects. Responsibilities include building AI models primarily in Python, testing and implementing them with stakeholders, developing AI tools into APIs, preparing data for modeling, building generative AI prototypes, assisting with model deployment and monitoring, and applying responsible AI practices. Required skills include programming experience (ideally Python), a good understanding of maths and statistics, a keen interest in AI/ML, and strong communication skills. Desirable experience includes familiarity with relevant libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow), experience with LLM APIs, cloud platforms (Azure), Git, and Jupyter Notebooks. The entry requirements include specific A-level combinations with maths, equivalent work experience, or higher-level apprenticeships/degrees in numerate disciplines.

Entry requirements

  • Two A-levels in one or more similar subject plus B in A-Level maths. OR Two A-levels in one or more similar subject plus 2-years work experience in tech. OR Level 4 or 5 apprenticeship in a similar technical subject. OR International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject. OR 3+ years in a similar subject-related role. OR A first degree in a numerate discipline (but excluding Computer Science as not fundable).
