About the role

Halfords is seeking a Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice in Leicester. This role offers comprehensive training and excellent career prospects within the automotive industry. The apprentice will work alongside qualified technicians, gaining experience in vehicle investigation, repair, servicing, diagnostics, and warranty work. Duties also include assisting with MOTs, producing estimates, and providing excellent customer service. The apprenticeship leads to a Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Standard. Candidates will also study for Level 2 Maths and English functional skills if required. The training program lasts for 24 months, with block release training weeks at EMTEC Colleges in Nottingham. Upon completion, there's a possibility of a permanent position and further development opportunities to become a master technician and MOT tester. The average salary for a light vehicle technician post-apprenticeship ranges from £24k-£27k, with experienced technicians potentially earning up to £33k.
