About the role

Halfords are looking for a Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice to join their dealership in Arnold, Nottingham. This apprenticeship offers first-class training and excellent long-term career prospects within the automotive industry.

As an apprentice, you will work alongside qualified technicians, gaining hands-on experience in investigating, repairing, and servicing vehicles. Your duties will include producing estimates, carrying out diagnostics, performing warranty work, assisting with MOTs, and undertaking general technical tasks. You will also be expected to maintain high standards of customer service.

The apprenticeship is for 3 years and leads to the Light Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Standard at Level 3. You will also study towards Level 2 maths and English functional skills if required. Training will involve block release weeks at EMTEC Colleges in Nottingham, with regular support from Vocational Learning Advisors. Upon completion, there are opportunities for permanent employment and career progression to master technician and MOT tester roles. The average salary for a light vehicle technician ranges from £24k-£27k, with experienced technicians potentially earning up to £33k.
