About the role

Billinghay Sawmill Ltd is seeking a motivated Wood Machinist Apprentice to join their team. This is a practical, hands-on role where you will learn joinery and carpentry techniques while manufacturing bespoke timber products, including solid and engineered timber flooring. You will gain experience in safely operating woodworking machinery, selecting and preparing timber, and assisting with the full manufacturing process from timber preparation to assembly and finishing. The role involves quality checking, maintaining high manufacturing standards, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment. You will work alongside experienced staff, developing skills across woodworking, joinery, carpentry, and timber flooring manufacture. No two days will be the same, offering the opportunity to learn about the complete manufacturing process. The applicant should be driven to learn and grow professionally and personally, with potential for career progression within a growing business.
