Early Years Educator

About the role

As an apprentice Early Years Educator, you will gain hands-on experience in a childcare setting, working with children aged 0-5. You will complete various daily tasks to ensure children's needs, welfare, and education are met. This includes assisting children with learning numeracy and language skills through games, engaging in singing, role-play, and storytelling, and assisting with feeding and changing babies. You will also liaise with parents and external customers to provide a high level of service. Upon completion, there are opportunities for career progression into positions such as Room Leader, management training, or to spring into primary education or paediatric nursing, with continuous development available within the nursery setting.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English: 4, GCSE Maths: 4. Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, number, analytical, logical, team working, creative, initiative, non-judgemental, patience, and physical fitness skills are also essential.
