Teaching Assistant Apprentice

About the role

Steeton Primary School is seeking a motivated individual to join their support staff team as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. This role offers the opportunity to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to support children's learning, participation, and overall development, while working towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship. The apprentice will assist teachers in creating a safe, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment, supporting individual children and small groups with their learning activities. The role emphasizes building positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence, and assisting with their academic and social-emotional growth. Training will be provided by Shipley College with day release on Thursdays and regular workplace visits from an assessor. This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for career progression within the educational sector.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent). Strong communication, IT, organisation, problem-solving, administrative, and team-working skills are also desired, along with initiative, a non-judgemental attitude, and patience.
