About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with tools, machinery and engineering equipment and wants to gain practical experience while working towards a recognised engineering apprenticeship. You will be working alongside experienced engineers, developing your practical skills and knowledge across a range of engineering and hydraulic systems. Duties will include fitting, assembling and installing hydraulic components and engineering equipment, assisting with the maintenance and servicing of hydraulic power units and associated machinery, and supporting the diagnosis and repair of hydraulic system faults. You will also be involved in dismantling, inspecting, cleaning and reassembling hydraulic components, working with various hydraulic parts, carrying out routine and preventative maintenance, and assisting with testing and commissioning. The role requires using hand and power tools safely, reading basic engineering drawings, measuring components, assisting with manufacturing and refurbishment, preparing equipment, and maintaining a safe working environment. A full UK driving licence and own transport are essential, as is being 18 or over due to potential shift work. Previous practical engineering experience is strongly preferred.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths & English: Grade 4 as a minimum, Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Number skills, Logical, Team working, Physical fitness. Must be 18 or over. Must hold a full UK driving licence and have own transport. Previous practical engineering experience strongly preferred.
