Apprentice Bricklayer

About the role

Learn and develop core bricklaying skills with PHOENIX BRICKWORK (UK) LIMITED. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in various locations including Leicester, Birmingham, and Northampton. You will learn to lay bricks and blocks, mix mortar, set out work, and use tools safely. The role involves assisting experienced bricklayers, understanding drawings and specifications, and adhering to health and safety requirements. You will also attend college at Leicester College for your formal training. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in the construction industry, with progression to an Improver role and eventually a fully qualified bricklayer.

Key responsibilities include:

- Laying bricks and blocks

- Mixing mortar and setting out work

- Assisting experienced bricklayers

- Understanding construction drawings and methods

- Safe use of tools and equipment

- Material preparation and handling

- Maintaining a safe and tidy work area

- Following health and safety protocols

- Teamwork with colleagues and supervisors

- Attending college for training and assessments
