About the role

Embark on an exciting IT career with Portland Fuel Limited as an IT Trainee Apprentice. This role offers comprehensive training and exposure to a wide range of IT business activities. You will be involved in coding and development of new applications, maintaining existing codebase using C# and SQL, and working with SFTP communication applications. You'll also gain experience in database connections, updating the .Net framework, and coding for internal IIS websites. The apprenticeship includes setting up and maintaining Linux server environments, working with LAMP stack and IIS for internal/external websites, and managing MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. You'll also provide IT support to staff, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to network infrastructure optimisation. While a passion for IT is key, no industry qualifications are required as full training will be provided. You'll need GCSE English and Maths at C or above, and a UCAS score of 104 points. Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a willingness to learn and a positive, professional attitude. A full driver's license and flexibility to travel within the Portland Group are also required.
