Apprentice Finance Accountant

About the role

This apprenticeship offers a hands-on opportunity within the finance function of an international protein trading business. The apprentice will gain skills in financial reporting, trade finance, and financial planning and analysis, alongside formal study. The role provides a strong foundation in finance, developing practical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness, and confidence. Initial responsibilities include supporting core finance activities, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines. The apprentice will assist experienced team members to gain a broader understanding of finance's role in the business. Areas of involvement may include supporting management reporting, sales profitability validation, developing proficiency in financial systems, assisting the trade finance team, processing invoices and payments, and aiding with month-end and year-end processes.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 5 or above. A-Levels with a minimum of 112 UCAS points (approximately BBC). Strong communication skills, attention to detail, number skills, analytical skills, team working ability, enthusiasm to learn, ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to business needs.
