About the role

Playdays Nursery is seeking a passionate Childcare Apprentice to join their team at the Barons Court location. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build a career working with children, contributing to an outstanding early years experience. As an apprentice, you will support the nursery's vision, create a nurturing environment, and encourage children's curiosity and development.

Key duties include assisting in providing a warm and stimulating environment, supporting the well-being and learning of children (including those with additional needs) under the guidance of experienced practitioners, and aiding in the planning and preparation of activities tailored to individual needs. You will also help in fostering positive relationships, role-modelling positive behavior, and contributing to children's emotional well-being. The role involves assisting with observations, assessments, and record-keeping of children's learning and development. Additionally, you will supervise mealtimes, assist with food preparation for babies, and strictly adhere to safeguarding policies, including those related to allergies and sleep. The apprenticeship emphasizes inclusion, equality, and teamwork. You will be expected to be reliable, flexible, and work the hours requested by the Nursery Manager. This is a genuine apprenticeship, leading to a Level 3 Childcare qualification with Realise Learning and Employment Limited.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English Language grade 4 and GCSE Mathematics grade 4. Skills such as communication, attention to detail, caring nature, initiative, IT skills, organization, patience, problem-solving, and teamwork are desired.
