About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship for an Apprentice Dental Nurse. The course is a Level 3 Extended Diploma accredited by City & Guilds. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a dental practice, assisting dentists with procedures, sterilizing and preparing equipment, handling reception duties, and contributing to a positive patient experience. Key duties include providing chair-side support, managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the cleanliness and stock management of the dental surgery. This role offers a pathway to further career progression within dental practice management or specialized dental roles such as a dental therapist or hygienist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential, along with patience and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
