About the role

This is a community-based apprenticeship designed to kick-start your career in healthcare. The program includes a supported 3-month induction with hands-on skills training and completion of the Care Certificate. You will then progress to an 18-month BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support, combined with real-world healthcare experience. As an apprentice, you will support patients in living healthier, more independent lives, work alongside healthcare professionals, and gain valuable skills and experience. You will earn a salary while studying for a nationally recognized qualification, with excellent progression opportunities within the NHS. Successful completion can lead to senior healthcare support worker roles and potential progression towards registered healthcare professional qualifications.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills in English Language and Mathematics at grade C or 4 and above. Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are essential, along with initiative, a non-judgemental attitude, caring nature, and willingness to learn.
