About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to start a career in dental nursing based in a friendly practice in York. The role will involve providing chairside support to dental professionals and providing a high level of oral health care to patients.

During the Dental Nurse Apprenticeship, you will receive ongoing support, development and training to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to qualify and have a successful career in dental nursing.

Your daily activities could include assisting the dentist in providing safe and effective treatments, providing patients with a high level of care, setting up and cleaning surgery, sterilising instruments, updating patient records, maintaining equipment, and preparing instruments and materials for various treatments. You will also adhere to practice policies and procedures and utilize VR Technology.

The dental practice will support you with learning practical skills, whilst Aspiration Training will teach you the theory side. Your study will be based online with regular teaching and 1-2-1 sessions. Off the job training will be given throughout your apprenticeship during paid working hours.

Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse to the General Dental Council (GDC).

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (Grade 4-9) and GCSE Maths (Grade 4-9). Good communication skills, attention to detail, organisation skills, customer care skills, and team working abilities are essential. A passion for the dental sector is also required.
