About the role

This is a new role offering an enthusiastic candidate the opportunity to enter the exciting world of clinical research. The Apprentice Research Administrator will join the AMIIC team, led by Professor Charalambos Antoniades, and will be supported to learn many aspects of research administration throughout the 2-year tenure. The role is primarily office-based with opportunities to get involved in research delivery aspects such as sample preparation and management, and observation of participant visits. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and will require a high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills. An honorary contract with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust will be obtained, requiring adherence to patient confidentiality and GDPR. Duties include responding to enquiries, managing supplies, general office duties, basic data entry, administrative support for the ORFAN Project Manager, coordinating participant appointments and expenses, and liaising with other departments. Involvement in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) is also part of the role. Interviews will be held in person during W/C 2nd November 2026. Pre-employment checks will include University security screening and a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check.
