About the role

Cummins Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic Finance Apprentice for their Global Centre of Accounts in Darlington. This developmental role, focusing on the AAT Level 3 qualification, offers the opportunity to learn how a major global organization operates. Responsibilities include compiling and analyzing financial information, assisting with financial statements and reports, making accounting adjustments, reconciling accounts, and examining financial statements for accuracy and conformance with accounting standards. Successful completion may lead to progression to AAT Level 4. The role requires strong IT and MS Office skills (including Excel), good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Candidates must be UK residents and have GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above), along with three other subjects at the same grade. AAT Level 2 or A-level equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Business is also required.

Entry requirements

  • AAT Level 2 or A Level equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field (A Level or Level 3 will be considered if Bookkeeping was involved in the module); Proficient IT and MS office skills (including Excel) is essential; GCSE or equivalent maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) with 3 other subjects at grade C/4 or above; Good knowledge of Double-entry Bookkeeping is essential for the role; Must be a UK resident who has lived in the UK for the last 3 years. If you are a previous resident of the EU/EEA, you must have gained pre-settlement or settlement status.
