About the role

An exciting opportunity for an apprentice dental nurse to join a friendly practice in Redditch. The role involves providing chairside support and high-level oral health care to patients. The apprenticeship includes ongoing support, development, and training to equip you with the skills and knowledge for a successful career. Daily activities include assisting the dentist, patient care, surgery setup and cleaning, instrument sterilization, updating patient records, maintaining equipment, preparing instruments, and adhering to practice policies. You will receive practical skills training at the dental practice and theoretical learning from Aspiration Training online, with regular teaching and 1-2-1 sessions. Off-the-job training is provided during paid working hours. A passion for the dental sector, resilience to the sight of blood, and a willingness to undergo Hepatitis B vaccination and an enhanced DBS check are essential. Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to register as a dental nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC). Career progression opportunities include dental hygienist, therapist, cosmetics, head nurse, team leader, or practice manager.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English (Grade 4-9) and GCSE Maths (Grade 4-9). Strong communication, organization, customer care, and teamwork skills are also required.
