About the role

Embark on a rewarding career as an Apprentice Dental Nurse at Watford Smiles. This 18-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma course, accredited by City & Guilds, will equip you with the skills to become a vital part of the dental team. Alongside your studies, you will gain hands-on experience assisting dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, and enhancing the patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing efficient chairside support, maintaining high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance. You will prepare surgeries, sterilise instruments to CQC standards, assist clinicians, and accurately update patient records. Your role will also involve supporting patient comfort, monitoring stock, ensuring clinical areas are clean and fully equipped, and upholding patient privacy. This apprenticeship offers excellent career progression opportunities, with potential to move into roles such as Senior Dental Nurse, Lead Nurse, Treatment Coordinator, or Practice Manager. Further training can lead to specialisations as a Dental Hygienist, Dental Therapist, or Orthodontic Therapist.
