About the role

Gensmile - Sandown Dental Practice is offering an exciting Apprenticeship opportunity for an Apprentice Dental Nurse. This 18-month government-funded course, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, will equip you with the skills to assist dentists, sterilize and prepare equipment, manage reception duties, and enhance the patient experience. You will provide efficient and reliable chairside support, maintain high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance. Daily duties include welcoming patients, handling inquiries, preparing surgeries, sterilizing instruments, assisting clinicians, updating records, and maintaining clinical areas. The role emphasizes patient comfort, dignity, and collaboration with the dental team. Career progression opportunities are excellent, with potential to advance to Senior Dental Nurse, Lead Nurse, Treatment Coordinator, or Practice Manager. Further training can lead to roles like Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths at grade 4, GCSE English at grade 4. Desired administrative, analytical, customer care, IT, organisational, and communication skills.
