About the role

This vacancy is for an Apprentice Dental Nurse based in Barrow-In-Furness. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience dealing with internal and external customers whilst gaining on-the-job qualifications. Duties include assisting the dentist/therapist/hygienist during all clinical procedures, carrying out and being responsible for all Health and Safety and Cross Infection policies and procedures within the dental surgery, and assisting with minor oral surgery, charting, and periodontal assessments. Reception duties, including answering the telephone, greeting patients, and making appointments, are also part of the role, as is the correct disposal of all waste. The apprentice will also assist with the preparation of patients and equipment during the taking of x-rays.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above. Communication skills, organisation skills, team working.
