About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, delivered by City & Guilds. The role involves providing efficient chair-side support to dentists, including preparing and sterilising equipment, reception duties, managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, and supporting patient wellbeing. You will also be responsible for maintaining patient records, managing stock, and assisting the dental team in providing effective patient care. The apprenticeship includes on-the-job training at the dental surgery and functional skills training if required.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork abilities, along with patience and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
