About the role

This is a 12-month, government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, delivered by City & Guilds. As an Apprentice Dental Nurse, you will assist dentists, sterilize and prepare equipment, handle reception duties, and support the overall patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chair-side support, managing patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the cleanliness of dental areas. The role also involves managing stock and supporting the dental team in delivering effective patient care. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include roles like team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Desired skills include strong communication, organization, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills, along with patience and a non-judgmental approach to patient care.
