About the role

Provide efficient and reliable chair-side support to the dental surgery. The day-to-day duties of a dental nurse can span across all areas of the practice and can include reception duties, dealing with patient queries, taking payments, booking appointments, sterilising and preparing equipment, recording patient records, supporting patients' wellbeing, cleaning dental areas, and managing stock. Any other duties to support the dentists and senior team to provide effective patient care may also be required. This apprenticeship offers a pathway to progress into roles such as team manager, team leader, or dental practice manager. Further training can lead to becoming a dental therapist, dental hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. This role requires GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 (desired), along with strong communication, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and team working skills. Patience and a non-judgemental approach are also essential, alongside a commitment to patient care. Successful candidates will need to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and receive a Hepatitis B vaccine.
