About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to start a career in dental nursing. Based in a friendly practice in Ilkley, the role will involve providing chairside support to dental professionals and a high level of oral health care to patients. During the apprenticeship, you will receive ongoing support, development, and training. Your daily activities could include assisting the dentist, providing patient care, setting up and cleaning surgeries, sterilizing instruments, updating patient records, and maintaining equipment. You will learn practical skills within the dental practice while Aspiration Training will provide the theory side through online learning and regular 1-2-1 sessions. Off-the-job training will be provided during paid working hours. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the relevant qualification to apply for professional registration as a dental nurse with the General Dental Council (GDC). This is a great opportunity to secure long-term employment with potential career progression into roles such as head nurse, team leader, or practice manager, or further training in dental hygiene, therapy, or cosmetics.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4-9. Strong communication, organisation, and administrative skills are desired.
