About the role

BRIAN ROBSON COACHWORKS LTD is seeking an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Assessor (Level 4) to join their team in St Albans. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop skills in assessing accident-damaged vehicles, researching repair methods, and using specialist software to create repair instructions and costings. The apprentice will liaise with technical colleagues, customers, and insurance companies to negotiate repairs. The role requires strong communication, IT, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. The apprenticeship is for 2 years, with training provided by AUTO-ASSESS LIMITED. Upon completion, apprentices can progress to roles such as Workshop Controller or Bodyshop Manager within the automotive sector.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, plus strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, number, analytical, logical, team working, creative, initiative, non-judgemental, patience, and physical fitness skills.
