About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a qualified Dental Nurse. Over 18 months, you will gain an 18-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. Your role within Harrowgate Hill Dental Practice will involve assisting dentists chairside, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, and crucially, supporting the patient experience. You will learn to maintain high standards of patient care, confidentiality, and GDPR compliance. Duties include welcoming patients, handling enquiries, preparing surgeries, assisting clinicians, updating patient records, monitoring stock, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. The practice is an inclusive, mixed NHS and private facility focused on developing new talent. Upon completion, there are clear career progression routes into roles such as Senior Dental Nurse, Lead Nurse, Treatment Coordinator, or Practice Manager, with further opportunities to specialize or become a Dental Hygienist or Therapist.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Desired administrative, analytical, attention to detail, customer care, initiative, IT, logical thinking, patience, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
