About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to support the Finance & Business Support Manager at Magellan. You will be involved in pulling together financial data, reviewing it, and reporting key information. Key responsibilities include assisting with the time booking process, supporting month-end preparations, and reporting on profit and loss for business unit leads with analysis. You will also help with forecasting revenue and costs, provide financial support for bids, and liaise with project managers on various financial aspects like purchase orders and invoicing. The role also involves assisting with contract in progress spreadsheets and ensuring investments are reported correctly. You will provide general administrative and finance support, assist with finance calls, and work closely with the finance controlling team to promote positive working relationships. Furthermore, you will help monitor key financial and operational KPI targets, prepare finance reports and dashboards, and contribute ideas for process improvements.

Entry requirements

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC etc.) OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role) plus 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above. Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar).
