About the role

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is seeking an Apprentice Gardener for their Woking location. The apprentice will assist in the care, maintenance, and development of turf and horticultural features within CWGC cemeteries and memorials, working under the guidance of a Head Gardener. Key responsibilities include turf culture, pruning, soil management, planting, pest control, machinery operation and maintenance, tree care, and the care of ornamental features. The role also involves practical maintenance, renovation work, safe operation of equipment, basic administrative duties using IT and smartphones, and representing the Commission at events. The apprentice will be expected to contribute to UKNA projects and provide information to cemetery visitors.
