Operations Apprenticeship

About the role

As an Operations Apprentice at AWE, you will gain valuable experience in a unique environment supporting the manufacturing and assembly work that contributes to the defence and security of the United Kingdom. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in production and process operations within a highly regulated, safety-focused setting. You will have the opportunity to learn how different parts of the business work together, including Operations, Manufacturing, Science, and Engineering. Activities may include understanding operational tasks, supporting administrative activities, carrying out practical laboratory analysis, learning about safety measures in operational areas, and understanding how daily tasks and safe systems of work are organised. The role requires good communication, IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team. Physical demands are involved, requiring a medical assessment for fitness and suitability, including a BMI under 35.
