About the role

As an apprentice, you will be exposed to all aspects of building services design engineering. Your day-to-day tasks will include producing detailed designs and drawings, using computer modelling software, undertaking site surveys, and researching new technologies. You will also attend meetings with project teams, clients, and end-users, and prepare engineering system designs. There are opportunities to specialize in electrical, mechanical, or digital engineering design. Strong communication skills are essential as you will liaise with various stakeholders throughout projects. This is a 5-year apprenticeship leading to a BSc or BEng Building Services Engineering degree, with the potential to gain Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.

Entry requirements

  • A Level or equivalent in a Science Subject: A-C (Desired), A Level or equivalent in Maths: A-C (Desired), T Level Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning: Merit (Desired), BTEC Extended Diploma in an Engineering subject: DDM (Desired), BTEC National Diploma in an Engineering subject: D*D* (Desired), Level 3 or equivalent Building Services: Merit (Desired), Level 4 or equivalent Building Services: Merit (Desired)
