About the role

Join HOARE LEA LLP as a Building Services Design Engineer Degree Apprentice in Birmingham. This 5-year program offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of building services engineering design. You will gain hands-on experience across a variety of projects, working on live projects from the outset. Your day-to-day tasks will include producing detailed designs and drawings, utilizing advanced computer modeling software, conducting site surveys, researching new technologies, and liaising with project teams, clients, and end-users. You will also be involved in preparing engineering system designs, writing specifications, and monitoring construction site progress. There's potential to specialize in electrical, mechanical, or digital engineering design. This apprenticeship is designed for individuals with a genuine interest in developing a career within the sector, with opportunities to progress to roles such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineer and gain Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status.

Entry requirements

  • A-levels or equivalent in a Science Subject (A-C) and Maths (A-C); or T Level Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning (Merit); or BTEC Extended Diploma in an Engineering subject (DDM); or BTEC National Diploma in an Engineering subject (D*D*); or Level 3 or equivalent in Building Services (Merit); or Level 4 or equivalent in Building Services (Merit). Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, presentation, numerical, analytical, and teamwork skills are essential.
