About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career within the live events industry. As a Live Event Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals supporting the preparation, installation, operation and maintenance of technical equipment used for live events.
You’ll gain hands-on experience working on brand launches, national conferences, sales events, and large-scale international forums while studying towards the Level 3 Creative Industries Production Technician (Live Event Technician Pathway) qualification. No two days are the same, and you’ll develop skills across lighting, audio, video, staging, rigging and event production. Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining technical equipment, assisting with the installation of systems, supporting the operation of technical equipment during live events, carrying out equipment testing, and maintaining equipment to ensure it remains safe and operational. You will also follow technical drawings, work safely, complete equipment checks, support warehouse operations, assist with cable management, learn how to programme and operate lighting and audio systems, and support the team during de-rigs and equipment returns. Effective communication with colleagues, clients, and venue staff, and professional work as part of a busy production team are essential.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
