About the role

Join NFU MUTUAL's Large Corporate Insurance department as a Claims Handler Apprentice. You will investigate and process complex motor, property, and liability claims for major clients, playing a vital role in preventing loss and fraud while ensuring fair outcomes and excellent customer service. This apprenticeship offers a broad understanding of the business through various work placements, building technical knowledge and professional skills. You will gain a recognized insurance qualification (Cert CII) and complete a structured development program, with ample support from your manager, mentor, and programme lead. Initial weeks focus on learning company processes and team dynamics, progressing to hands-on experience shadowing team members and liaising with customers. The training includes the Level 3 Insurance Practitioner Apprenticeship, developing regulatory and technical knowledge, and practical experience in assessing claims. Hybrid working is available after the initial settling-in period, with one day a week dedicated to apprenticeship study, which can be done from home. You'll join a supportive team, many of whom started their careers in similar roles.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English (grade 4/C or above), plus any 2 additional GCSE subjects (grade 4/C or above). A-levels or equivalent (predicted grades considered). Skills: Communication, Attention to detail, Organisation, Problem solving, Team working, Customer Focus, Resilience and Initiative, Computer proficiency, Customer Service experience.
