About the role

This apprenticeship provides training and practical experience for individuals beginning a career in property maintenance. Apprentices attend Greenlight Training for four days a month, where they develop essential skills and industry understanding. The remainder of the month is spent on site, gaining experience in a professional environment. Duties include assisting with general repairs and maintenance, checking and maintaining fixtures, fittings, and equipment, communicating effectively with colleagues, tenants, and clients, learning to read and follow work instructions, and ensuring tools and materials are prepared and stored safely. Essential skills required include communication, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, logical thinking, teamwork, and initiative. Career progression opportunities include becoming a Qualified Property Maintenance Operative, self-employment, or moving into managerial/supervisor roles.
