About the role

This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity at Martins Volkswagen Van Centre Basingstoke for a Commercial Vehicles Service Technician. The role involves all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, from routine servicing to complex diagnostics. Apprentices will use diagnostic equipment, test parts and systems, perform inspections, maintain electronic systems, and undertake repairs on various vehicle components. The position offers the chance to work with a wide range of vehicle technologies, including traditional, hybrid, and electric engines. Ideal candidates will possess strong logic, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to a three-year training program. Enthusiasm, teamwork, strong communication, customer service skills, and an interest in vehicle engineering are highly valued. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, there are excellent opportunities for career progression within the Volkswagen Group network, with potential to move into team leadership or management roles.

Entry requirements

  • GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science at grade 9-4 are essential. Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organization, customer care, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are also required.
