About the role
As an apprentice vehicle damage panel technician, you will be repairing accident damage to vehicles, including the removal, repair, and replacement of vehicle body panels to manufacturer specifications. This role involves working on cars and light commercial vehicles, offering a high-quality training package with excellent career prospects. Duties include undertaking job preparation, identifying materials for correct joining techniques, interpreting technical data for alignment, removing/repairing/replacing body panels, operating repair tools and equipment, identifying and communicating supplementary damage, rectifying structural faults, and maintaining high housekeeping standards. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, organised, a cooperative team member eager to learn, with a genuine passion for cars and the automotive industry. Upon completion, expect permanent employment and opportunities to progress to roles such as workshop controller, vehicle damage assessor, or Bodyshop manager.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths Grade 4/C or above. Desired skills include communication, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, analytical skills, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, patience, and physical fitness.
