About the role

This is a 12-month, government-funded apprenticeship leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing, accredited by City & Guilds. The role involves providing essential chair-side support to dentists, sterilising and preparing equipment, performing reception duties, and contributing to a positive patient experience. Key responsibilities include managing patient queries, processing payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and ensuring the cleanliness of dental areas. You will also be responsible for managing stock levels of equipment and supplies, and generally supporting the dental team to deliver effective patient care. The apprenticeship offers a clear career path, with opportunities to progress into roles such as team manager, dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. The employer is a healthcare provider offering a range of general dental services.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, organisational, customer care, problem-solving, administrative, and teamwork skills are also desired, along with patience and a non-judgemental attitude towards patient care.
