About the role
The Autocare Technician Apprenticeship at Halfords Autocentre in Newton Le Willows offers a comprehensive training program for aspiring mechanics. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience in diagnosing vehicle faults using diagnostic equipment, testing parts and systems, and performing vehicle inspections. The role involves working with a variety of vehicle types, including traditional, hybrid, and electric engines, providing a diverse technical training experience. Training is delivered through a blend of virtual classroom learning and face-to-face sessions at a state-of-the-art training center, with all associated costs covered. Apprentices will be supported by a dedicated mentor in the workplace. Upon successful completion, apprentices will receive a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Autocare Technician, along with additional certifications in refrigerant handling, electric/hybrid vehicle safety, and brand-specific training, with a pathway to a Level 3 apprenticeship.
Entry requirements
- GCSE grades 9–4 (A–C) or equivalent in English and Maths.
