About the role

Drive your career forward with this exciting apprenticeship opportunity at Halfords. As an Autocare Technician/Mechanic, you will be involved in all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair, from routine servicing to complex diagnostics. Your duties will include using diagnostic equipment, testing parts and systems, carrying out inspections, and performing maintenance on electronic systems. You will gain experience with a wide range of vehicle technologies, including traditional, hybrid, and electronic engines.

We are looking for candidates with strong logic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing the apprenticeship. Prior experience in the motor industry or formal training at Level 1 is desirable. You should be passionate about the industry and possess enthusiasm, teamwork, strong communication, customer service skills, and an interest in vehicle engineering.

Upon successful completion, you will receive a Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard in Autocare Technician, along with various certifications and the potential for progression to a Level 3 apprenticeship. This role offers excellent earning and progression opportunities, with the possibility of becoming a team leader or manager.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
