About the role
This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a Light Vehicle Technician with the Metropolitan Police Service in London. You will be an integral part of the Fleet Services team, maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of over 5,200 vehicles, including cars, HGVs, motorbikes, and pedal cycles. This role is crucial in ensuring officers and staff can respond to and prevent crime effectively across London. You will gain hands-on experience, learn essential technical skills, and work towards an industry-recognised qualification. The apprenticeship involves both practical work in the vehicle workshop and theoretical learning, keeping you up-to-date with the latest automotive technology. Emphasis is placed on maintaining high-quality standards, workplace safety, and cleanliness. Upon successful completion, there are prospects for a full-time permanent position within the Met Police vehicle workshop, with opportunities for career development and to contribute to making London a safer place.
