About the role

This is an 18-month government-funded Level 3 Extended Diploma apprenticeship in Dental Nursing, provided by City & Guilds. As an Apprentice Dental Nurse at Kelvin House Dental Practice, you will gain hands-on experience assisting dentists, sterilizing equipment, handling reception duties, and ensuring a positive patient experience. Key responsibilities include providing chairside support, preparing surgeries, maintaining infection control, assisting during treatments, updating patient records, managing stock, and upholding patient confidentiality. The practice is inclusive, offering both NHS and private treatments, and is dedicated to developing the next generation of dental nurses. Upon completion, career progression opportunities include Senior Dental Nurse, Lead Nurse, Treatment Coordinator, Practice Manager, or further training to become a Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist. The training is delivered by Tempdent with a flexible online model and regular support.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Maths at grade 4 and GCSE English at grade 4. Desired skills include administrative, analytical, attention to detail, customer care, initiative, IT, logical thinking, patience, presentation, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
