About the role

Halfords are seeking a Light Vehicle Technician Apprentice to join their dealership in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity offering first-class training and outstanding long-term career prospects. The apprentice will work alongside qualified Technicians on vehicle investigation, repair, and servicing, including producing estimates, carrying out diagnostics, warranty work, and assisting with MOTs. General technical duties and excellent customer service are also key aspects of the role. Candidates will be working towards achieving the Light Vehicle Technician Apprenticeship Standard at Level 3 and may need to study for Level 2 maths and English functional skills if they don't hold equivalent qualifications. The training includes block release weeks in Nottingham, and regular visits from vocational learning advisors. Upon completion, there is a possibility of a permanent position, with opportunities to progress to master technician and MOT tester roles. The average salary for a light vehicle technician after apprenticeship completion is between £24k-£27k.
