About the role

As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service. You will complete a Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship alongside your role, with full training and support provided. Key duties include supporting customers at the medicines counter and responding to queries, assisting with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision), handling stock, deliveries and maintaining accurate records, using pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality, and working as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service. The role requires a genuine interest in healthcare and working with people, strong communication and customer service skills, good attention to detail and willingness to learn, ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, reliability, punctuality and professionalism, and basic IT skills. No previous pharmacy experience is required as full training is provided. The apprenticeship qualification is Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship, typically lasting 15 months, with training delivered through blended learning. Apprentices must commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours. This is an exciting role that will include engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and stock replenishment, helping to deliver a variety of public health services whilst gaining a pharmacy qualification.
