About the role

The Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner (EYLP) Apprenticeship is designed for experienced and proactive individuals working directly with children. This role involves taking an operational lead in the care, learning, and development of young children, as well as guiding and supporting other practitioners. Key duties include ensuring children's safety and well-being, facilitating play and learning opportunities, promoting speech, language, and communication development, leading daily routines, promoting diversity and equality, ensuring safeguarding compliance, reflecting on and improving pedagogical practices, and leading the development of other practitioners. This apprenticeship is equivalent to a foundation degree and can lead to further progression, such as a top-up degree and Early Years Teacher Status.

Entry requirements

• GCSE English grade 4 or above, and a Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification (Pass). Strong communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, problem-solving, and team working skills are also essential.
