About the role
The Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner (EYLP) Apprenticeship is designed for experienced practitioners who work directly with children and aim to take a leadership role in early years settings. This apprenticeship focuses on the operational lead for the care, learning, and development of young children, as well as supporting and leading the practice of other staff members. Key responsibilities include ensuring children's safety and well-being, facilitating play and learning, promoting best practices in observation and assessment, fostering diversity and inclusion, and ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation. The role also involves reflecting on and improving practice through professional enquiry and supporting the development of other practitioners. Upon completion, this qualification is equivalent to a Foundation Degree, offering pathways to a top-up degree and Early Years Teacher Status. The training combines virtual classrooms, webinars, work-based tasks, and online assignments, with regular one-to-one support from an apprenticeship tutor. An enhanced DBS check will be required for successful candidates.
Entry requirements
- GCSE English grade 4 or above, Level 3 Early Years Educator Qualification (Pass). Essential skills include communication, IT, attention to detail, organisation, customer care, problem-solving, presentation, administrative, number skills, logical thinking, teamwork, creativity, initiative, and patience.
