About the role

This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to become a Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) Apprentice at FMG Repair Services Limited in Guildford. The role involves identifying damaged mechanical and electrical components on vehicles, and removing and refitting them before and after body repair work. You will gain hands-on experience in removing and refitting non-structural body panels, mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring correct alignment. You'll also learn to diagnose and fix faults within a vehicle management system and associated electrical systems. Upon completion, successful candidates may have the opportunity to move into a full-time career within the automotive industry, with potential for progression to positions of authority or even careers in motorsport. The training provided is a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) Technician apprenticeship standard, including certification in Refrigerant Handling and block release training at an approved college. A skills coach will provide close support throughout your apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, customer care, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are also essential.
