About the role
An apprenticeship in dental nursing is an 18-month government-funded course by City & Guilds, leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma. Alongside your studies, your job role within the practice will involve assisting dentists, sterilizing and preparing equipment, reception duties, and supporting the patient experience. You will gain real responsibility from day one, supporting dentists and specialists in a patient-focused setting. Duties include assisting with surgery setup, equipment checks, sterilisation, ensuring documentation and patient records are completed correctly, promoting excellent standards of care, and following practice policies, safeguarding, and compliance guidelines. At Rodericks Dental Partners, your career can grow into roles such as Senior Dental Nurse, Lead Nurse, Practice Manager, or Regional Support. Further qualifications as a Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist are also possible.
