About the role

This is a 12-month government-funded apprenticeship leading to a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dental Nursing. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in a dental practice, assisting dentists with chair-side support, sterilising and preparing equipment, managing reception duties, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The role involves a variety of tasks including answering the phone, greeting patients, dealing with queries, taking payments, booking appointments, maintaining patient records, and managing stock. You will also be responsible for supporting patient wellbeing and maintaining cleanliness within the dental areas. Upon completion, there are opportunities for career progression into roles such as dental practice manager, or further training to become a dental therapist, hygienist, or orthodontic therapist. This apprenticeship is delivered by Harriet Ellis Training Solutions Limited.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. Strong communication, attention to detail, customer care, administrative, and teamwork skills are essential.
